The following is a list of some simple, effective lifestyle changes you can make to help you through your diagnosis and start on a healthy path to success: 
  • Get your blood work done. The A1C test is a blood test that provides information about your blood sugar levels over the last 3 months. It’s good to get this test done every 3-6 months. You can learn more about the A1C test here.
  • Get regular exercise at least 3 times a week. Walking, going to the gym, swimming or playing with you kids are all great ways to stay active.
  • Make sure you are eating a healthy diet that includes fiber, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and low in fat.
