Who We Are
Diabetes is undoubtedly one of the deadliest diseases to ever surface in the history of humanity. According to report diabetes alone has approximately taken 2.5 million lives in Northern America, 1.8 million in Southern America, 2.7 million in Europe, 2.2 million in Africa, and 3.2 million in Asia and Australia combined. Current discoveries also show that the number of people with diabetes has risen from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. The global prevention of diabetes among adults over 18 years of age has increased from 4.7% in 1980 to 8.5 in 2014. In 2016, an estimated 1.6 million deaths directly caused by diabetes. In 2023, a total of 1,461,594 people lost their lives due to diabetes globally.
However, this challenging issue has prompted many physicians and organizations to work tirelessly towards eradicating or at least reducing diabetes to a very irrelevant degree. Among the organizations battling diabetes and its related diseases is our very own foundation,” Dennis. E. Harris diabetic foundation “.
The Dennis E Harris Diabetic Foundation was established in 2019 in memory of Dennis E Harris, who tragically passed away from complications of diabetes in 2001. Dennis E Harris was a beloved family member and friend whose life was cut short by a diabetic coma. His passing served as a clear reminder of the importance of diabetes awareness, prevention, and management. The foundation was created to honor his memory and to spread awareness about the dangers of diabetes. Through education, outreach, and support programs, the Dennis E Harris Diabetic Foundation aims to empower individuals and families affected by diabetes with the information and resources they need to live healthier lives. By sharing Dennis E Harris’s story and advocating for better diabetes care and prevention, the foundation works towards a future where no one loses their life to this chronic condition. Join us in our mission to honor Dennis E Harris’s legacy and make a positive impact in the fight against diabetes.
